Ministry of Information
“Truth Requires Clarity.”
The Ministry of Information maintains the standards under which civic data is collected, anonymised, and disseminated. It operates the public communications infrastructure of the Directorate, including this public interface.
- Public communications and broadcasting
- Standards for civic information
- Public education and digital platforms
- Maintenance of the Public Archive and the Archive Terminal
Mandate
The Ministry of Information regards comprehensive, accurate civic information as a foundational public good — equivalent in importance to clean water or reliable electricity. The Ministry’s task is to ensure that the information citizens receive is timely, accurate, and presented without ambiguity.
The Ministry does not author Directorate policy. It is the institution that translates policy into a form citizens can consult, question, and act upon.
Responsibilities
- Public Archive — Operates the public records system, including the published archive of broadcasts, briefings, and notices, and the Archive Terminal interface.
- Information Standards — Sets the standards under which civic data is collected, anonymised, and shared across ministries.
- Public Education — Coordinates with district authorities on civic education curricula, particularly the modules covering the Founding Charter and the Doctrines.
Style
Communications issued by the Ministry are required to be:
- Factual. Statements are sourced or labelled as judgement.
- Concise. No more is said than is necessary.
- Calm. Communications carry no emotional charge that could distort interpretation.
The Ministry’s house style is the basis for all Directorate publications.
